This Just In ...COMPETITOURS is a team competition and a new way to travelCOMPETITOURS is a team travel competition, featuring pairs of teams, who are sent together on a secret itinerary to earn points by accomplishing a series of quirky and interactive challenges while soaking up the fascinating and diverse places and cultures of Western and Central Europe. At stake, a worldwide travel spree grand prize.
Whereas the TV show is about speed and physical prowess, Competitours offers a far
more level playing field. The challenges test teams abilities to be creative,
resourceful, original, even a bit zany at times...as such, ANYONE that has a zest
for travel and spontaneity can participate.
What's it like? Each day, teams will have between 9-12 challenges to choose from, to create their own CUSTOMIZED itineraries. Challenges will vary by distance from train station (intown, outskirts, excursion), by theme (history, culture, cuisine, fashion, outdoors, offbeat, ethnic enclaves, etc.) and by skill set (outgoing, humorous, investigative, convincing, etc.). Teams will document each challenge by portable videocamera and submit their daily footage for our judges to evaluate and score; video content/substance is what judges are looking for- the info and the personality that teams invest. Its not about videography (editing, special effects, etc.) Sample challenges:

One Couple's Experience - Kent and LindaDid we enjoy it?We had a great time. Someone asked me, "Were you able to really see Europe during the race?" Well, in the same way you see a river while white water rafting. Some prefer the excitement of the rafting trip, while others would rather walk along on the edge of the stream. We had seen enough of Europe to know we were ready to do some white water rafting, so to speak. I'd like to go back and do it again. My wife says she's up for it as long as we can have a nice, relaxing, beach vacation for a few days afterwards to recoup. We were tired at the end of the game, but in a good way. We certainly felt like we accomplished something afterwards. We always thought we'd get along great competing in The Amazing Race, and this was as close to doing that race as you can get. And while we had a few disagreements along the way, we learned that we compliment each other rather well. She's an excellent navigator and I handled the tech part.
