York Pennsylvania is Factory Tour Capital adding three new tours

York, Pennsylvania announces three new free tours. Added to their existing opportunities, there can’t be a better place to go for free factory tours. And, free tours of places and businesses that aren’t factories at all.

Going Green at First Capital Federal Credit Union

So, of course, the first new tour isn’t a factory at all. It’s a LEED green building. Tour the First Capital Federal Credit Union's NEW gold LEED registered building, and learn about going green.. Get an up-close look at a eco-friendly practices including geo-thermal heating, rainwater capture, natural light enhancement, locally-sourced wood and recycled materials.

Pet an Alpaca at Painted Spring Farm

And, well, this isn’t a factory tour, either. But there are some listed below. Instead, take a tour of a working alpaca farm at Painted Springs. Meet the friendly alpacas and get a glimpse into these ancient creatures' gentle and playful nature. After you're guided tour, take a spin around the shop to see Beth's prized fibers, yarn and fleeces.

Watch and Tinker at York Time Institute

The York Time Institute offers you an up-close glimpse at the hub of activity in a master timekeeper's shop. For over thirty years, York Time Institute founder, Dan Nied, has kept perfect time with the conservation, restoration and repair of antique timepieces, as well as, manufacturing of custom watches and clocks.
