Giant Alligators Invade Gatorland: Mile of Monsters features ten of the most notorious reptiles in captivityGatorland is home to thousands of alligators and crocodiles, but some of the biggest and baddest reptiles alive can be found ruling the lakes and exhibits at the Alligator Capital of the World.Gatorland has just kicked off a brand new, one-of-a-kind self guided tour through the lair of some of the theme park's most notorious reptiles including, Chester, the Terror from Tampa, and his distant cousin Mania from Miami, whose split personality can take him from mild to maniac in just seconds. "We have some of the most dangerous alligators and crocodiles with some amazing personalities and incredible stories," says Mark McHugh, Gatorland's president & CEO. "These guys have scared employees almost to death and bitten handlers, while some are known dog killers and others have captured worldwide media attention. These stories are just too good to keep to ourselves, so we thought it would be great to share the legends of these renegades with our visitors." At its opening, the Mile of Monsters will feature the stories of ten large alligators and crocodiles whose unique antisocial personalities have left those who work closest with them in need of therapy. At its completion, the Mile of Monsters will include a total of twenty-four of the most feared reptiles to grace the waterways of Gatorland, each with a unique story. Gatorland is a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve, combining "Old Florida" charm with exciting new exhibits and entertainment. The park opened as a roadside attraction in 1949.
