Free Summer Events at Beaches of South Walton, Florida

Lots of activity is taking place this summer in Beaches of South Walton, 15 beach communities located along Northwest Florida's Gulf Coast. Here are some that are family-friendly and no-charge!
  • A Stone that Sings - Seaside - May 18 & 25; 7:30 pm
In the popular "Choose Your Own Adventure" performance, a single novel has dozens of plots, often leading in very different directions. At an exciting juncture, the reader is asked, "What would you do?" and turns the pages accordingly. This idea - the ultimate in audience participation - will now be performed by the Seaside Repertory Theatre for you! A Stone that Sings offers a series of plot choices that add up to eight different scenarios. With songs to go with each!
  • Solo Graffiti - Alys Beach - May 27; 7:30 p.m.
Art works set to music from Beaches of South Walton's 2009 Artist of the Year, Michael McCarty, will be projected on a wall at Alys Beach at 7:30 pm. Michael McCarty's paintings will be exhibited at Studio b in Alys Beach and a reception will be held at Fonville Press. Enjoy an evening of art under the stars and bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
  • Wednesday Night Concert Series at Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin

  • "Go Dog Go" - WaterColor Inn & Resort, Marina Park Amphitheatre - Tuesdays, May 26- August 11; 7:30 p.m.
"Go Dog Go" adapted by Allison Gregory and Steven Dietz, from the book "Go, Dog. Go!" by P.D. Eastman. A veritable canine cabaret, this beloved children's book comes to life filled with acrobatics, music, and physical comedy. These dogs - played by six agile actors - celebrate the many joys and challenges of life and friendship. The show takes the spirit of the book and brings it to life with a joyful and genuine intention that both children and adults will appreciate.
  • Wednesday Night Concerts - Sandestin - Every Wednesday (May, June, July) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
